History

- Presented by Maiden Alley Cinema -

This festival is made special with attention being paid to providing great beer, awesome food, regional and national live music acts, art vendors and more.  It was originally proposed by Mr. Louie Kirchhoff as something this community was lacking and he, Ginny Kirchhoff, Josh Ryan and Sabrina Ryan pretty much planned the first one in 2011.  The proceeds were to benefit Maiden Alley Cinema, a non-profit cinematic art house that shares an alley with the wonderful Kirchhoff’s Bakery & Deli as well as Max’s Brick Oven Restaurant.  After the first year, Louie handed over the reigns to Landee Bryant-Greene, Executive Director of Maiden Alley Cinema.  Since its origin the festival has grown every year adding additional breweries, more art vendors and always providing a stellar music line-up.  And it WOULD NOT be possible without a lot of very dedicated volunteers and sponsors.

In the beginning our beer offerings were limited to one brewery as our partner.  Schlafly Beer has been a wonderful addition to Maiden Alley Oktoberfest and all year long as the beer served at Maiden Alley Cinema and as our original Film Brew sponsor.  In 2015 we wanted to branch out and offer some local brews to celebrate the opening of two craft breweries in Paducah.   Dry Ground Brewing Company did a collaboration brew with Schlafly creating a Kentucky Common.  We were very excited to also welcome Paducah Beer Werks, West Sixth and Tin Man to the party.

From here we continue to increase attendance and provide a community festival that has something for everyone!!!  Starting with around 150 attending in 2011, we have definitely grown and it is our pleasure to continue to push the envelope year after year in order to provide something unique and special to the region.

This is the biggest fundraiser for Maiden Alley Cinema.  It continues to secure much needed operational support to aid in the continued success of the region's only 501(c)3 non-profit cinematic art house.  After opening in 2001 our mission remains as we maintain as a leading regional arts organization dedicated to enhancing culture through film by promoting visual literacy, creating crosscultural awareness and promoting filmmaking as an art form.  Over the past 15 years we have adjusted our programming to reach a broader audience and make Maiden Alley Cinema a place that offers something for everyone.

Through Music@MAC (live music series), Film Brew (cult classic film series paired with craft beer), Movies for Me (family friendly reduced rate film + FREE small popcorn) as well as our regularly scheduled newly released indepenedent films on the weekends, we offer a LOT of programming and always welcome new faces!!!

We thank you so much for your continued support.  We exist not only for our community, but because of it.  We can't do it without our loyal supporters and patrons.
